Hello all,

We have a current ASP.NET web portal in place that authenticates users via forms-based auth against an auth DB table in SQL Server. We plan to change that in the near future to have the incoming users authenticate against AD. One of our programmers here is thinking that ISA Server 2K4 could handle the authentication part, and basically assign the client a SID, which could then be used to allow access to our web app functions in the portal, and also OWA authentication, which we plan to integrate into our portal.

My question is, is this even a possibility, and if so, would we even want to do this (security??)

Thanks for any info you can provide....

Will

Hi Will,

Sounds like a programming issue. I'll move this to the programming section.

Thanks!
Tom

The simplest way to acomplish this is by using Basic auth at the web servers (OWA, too).
This way, the ISA 200x web publishing could simply "forward" the Basic credentials and the user gets the SSO experience you're looking for *as long as* the links don't change the domain.
