Hi !

We have a AD and the ISA server is part of the AD (member).
ISA server is installed as a member server only with cache and firewall with SP1 on a W2k server.
The ISA server is behind a firewall so it will use a upstream server for connection to the Internet.
Although when I change the settings for the protocol rule (HTTP) to "User authentication" (Users and groups specified below) and set the check box "Ask unauthenticated users for identification".
The users I use is a group in the group are some AD users with there user id or a local user (same userid as in the AD).

When I then try to use this configuration the IE askes me for authentication all the time. But the site comes up behind the popup logon screen.

I have added the ISA server to the trused sites in the IE, I have tired with diffrent IE versions from 5.0 to 6 same problem.

The question is also do I need to start the ISA services with a special account that is in the AD?
If so what special requirements are the to that account?

How does ISA pass thru the authentication to the AD, in what whay ?

Please any idTer or sugestion are welcome.

This was due to a know problem with IE version before 5.5 SP1 see info: Q312822
