Hi there,
We are figuring out on how to publish our Intranet, OWA, CRM and other services to our employees via the Internet. Though, we have some struggles in figuring out the best way, since we want to use OWA (2003) integration in Sharepoint 2003 (e.g. have a users' Inbox on the Intranet as a webpart)
We use "intranet.domain.com" as portal in which we would allow employees to access their Inbox or Calendar using a webpart within Sharepoint 2003 which connects to "https://exchange.domain.com/exchange". It's not a problem from the inside (LAN), because of 'Integrated Authentication'.
The 'problem' occurs when an employee accesses the Intranet from the Internet. The user will have to authenticate twice; once for "intranet.domain.com" and again for "exchange.domain.com".
Anyone who has a clear thought about this? Something that has to do with manipulating the realm, perhaps. Microsoft's Single Sign On is not an option in this scenario.
Server1: Windows 2003 Std., Exchange 2003 Ent. Server2: Windows 2003 Std., ISA2004 Beta (we also have an ISA2000 Server) Server3: Windows 2003 Std., Sharepoint 2003
Kind regards,
Camille

Hi Camille,
For security reasons, the firewall developers decided that users should authenticate with each server. You can image the security implications of caching credentials to allow access to multiple servers. The bad guys would have a heyday!
HTH, Tom
