Hi,

Im setting up a network using Windows 2000 Advanced server and ISA server 2004. I have two NICs:-

1) One with static ip(191.168.10.1) for internal network (198.168.10.0- 198.168.10.255).
2) Other with dynamic ip based on my ISP( im connecting to DHCP server which assigns me an IP)

I have successfully setup domain and all users able to login to domain. Im also able to browse internet on my 2000 server. To allow internet access to other users in domain, when i install ISA Server 2004 , my domain users are not able to login to the domain nor they are able to get IP assigned thro DHCP. After installation, somehow my windows 2000 server is not available on the network.It cannot be seen or pinged.

I have defined Internal network range as (198.168.10.0- 198.168.10.255) as this is the same range my DHCP server assigns to users in my internal network.

Please let me know, if someone has faced similiar problem and has solution to it.

Your users wouldn't happen to use the wrong dns servers by any chance would they ?

The users need to use the domain controller as the dns server, in a active directory enviroment.

Also - Did you install a dhcp service, on the new isa server aswell ?

Hi,

Nope, users are not seeing any dns server.
Yeah DHCP service was installed on server before ISA was installed on it.

Now let me get this straight...you installed ISA Server on you Windows 2000 Domain Controller or is it a seperate server?

Bcoz windows 200 domain controller and ISA Server on the same machine is not a supported configuration.

Hi,

Thanks for ur help, it is same machine (ie. windows 2000 domain controller and isa server)

Could you please let me know where to find this info about the supported configurations and all?
