Hello, there. I am having a problem with ISA server 2006. I have published Exchange 2007 OWA.
When I try to login to OWA via the ISA server, instead of receiving the Exchange 2007 OWA logon screen to choose Premium or basic client, I received and ISA logon screen. Enter user credentials, successfully, logon to OWA but ONLY using premium client.

ISA 2006 server is working but I cannot figure out, why this is happening.

My environment, as follows:
All running on Windows server 2003 + SP1
1 x DC
1 x Exchange 2003 backend
1 x Exchange 2007 (mailbox + hub)
1 x Exchange 2007 (CAS)

I would appreciate, any feedback.

Thanks

Disable the form on the Exchange Server. It should be enabled only on the ISA Firewall.

HTH,
Tom

Tom,

Thank you for replying.

I disabled the forms based authenication on the Exchange server and set the authentication to Use one or more standard authentication methods to Basic authentication for the following default web sites : Exchange, Exchweb, Owa and Public. reset IIS on exchange server.

I have enabled FBA using AD on the external listener for the ISA server.

I followed the following articles to help configure the ISA 2006 server:
http://www.isaserver.org/tutorials/Using-2006-ISA-Firewall-RC-Publish-OWA-Sites-Part1.html
http://www.isaserver.org/tutorials/Using-2006-ISA-Firewall-RC-Publish-OWA-Sites-Part2.html

First, before trying to logon to OWA2007 via the ISA server.

I still have the same problem receive ISA logon screen not OWA2007 logon screen via isa 2006 server.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Neil,

Did you install the ISA hotfix that updates it's Exchange 2007 support?

Tom

Tom,

I have applied the ISA server 2006 hotfix to Update for Publishing Microsoft® Exchange Server 2007 for Microsoft® Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2006, link below:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925403/

Restarted ISA server but no change still receiving ISA logon screen not OWA.

Is is true if you are running ISA 2006 server EE which is the RC version, you will not see the OWA logon screen, so the behaviour I am seeing is correct?
And if you are using the RTM version then you will have the OWa logon screen?

Thanks
Neil

Hi Neil,

I know if you use the OWA Web Publishing Wizard you will see the OWA FBA.

HTH,
Tom

Tom,

sorted out my issue - I now receive OWA logon for FBA.

The problem was that I setup isa server 2006 in a workgroup first then moved into domain.
To resolve my problem I just uninstalled then reinstalled when inside domain.

Thanks for your help
