Hey ya all,

Is it possible or should I use a foundry switch to load balance multiple ISA servers. I know I can use the ISA arrays but I don't like the idea of these servers being in my AD.

Hi John,

WHY o' why o' why don't you want to take advantage of the superior security of making the ISA firewalls domain members? If you have a superstitiion, or if the chicken bones told you not to do so, or if a black cat crossed your path and you believe that array members in the domain might be the cause of the cat arching at you, then you put the CSS on a DC in an ISA firewall domain, and then creating a one-way trust.

I don't do it that why because I don't believe the Earth is flat, I don't believe the Moon is made of green cheeze, and I don't believe that Santa is going to bring me what I want this year. I do believe that security fears of making array members domain members is unfounded and hurts the organization's security posture because this superstition is so widespread.

HTH,
Tom
