Hello,

I am trying to get host headers to work on my ISA server and have run into a stumbling block. I am testing an ISA server and want to be able to use host headers to go to multiple servers.

As an example, I would like traffic going from ww1.mydomain.com to go to server1 @ 10.2.0.1

and

traffic going from ww2.mydomain.com to go to server2 @ 10.2.0.2 and so on.

I work for a software development company and in some zones we have thousands of host headers for different applications.

What is occurring now is that I have created a destination set for Server1 and for Server2 with the IP addresses. Then created two web publishing rules, one for ww1.mydomain.com and one for ww2.mydomain.com. ww2.mydomain.com is rule#1 and ww1.mydomain.com is rule#2.

When I browse to ww1.mydomain.com the site is comming up correct. When I browse to ww2.mydomain.com it gives a directory listing error. If I configure a web on server1 it will work fine. So it appears that all traffic is going to one server ignoring the initial part of the host header.

Any ideas on what maybe happening?

Brian

Hi Brian,

Use FQDNs in the Destination Sets instead of IP addresses. There are some issues with using IP addresses in Destination Sets which prevent them from working correctly when publishing servers.
