Using this config with RPC over HTTP - 28.Jun.2004 6:11:00 AM

Hi,
Has anyone else tried using this config to publish RPC over HTTP? I have RPC over HTTP working fine on the internal network, but when I go through the ISA 2004 server it keeps prompting me for logon credentials even when I supply correct details. I have added rpc/* to the path under the publishing rule that uses basic authentication listener, but cannot get it to work properly. Any hints would be much appreciated.
Also, where can I get the ISA2004/Exchange 2003 Deployment kit?
Thanks, Brad

Sorry... to get to this forum I clicked on a link from the article "ISA Server 2004: Supporting Both Basic and Forms-based Authentication with a Single External IP Address and Web Listener". I am using this setup and cannot get RPC over HTTP working through the ISA 2004 firewall, but my OWA using forms based auth works fine.

Hi Brad,
Did you use the procedure in that article?
Remember, you can't use the same listener for RPC over HTTP and OWA FBA.

Hi Tom,
Yeah I did follow the article.
The only variation was that I added /rpc* to the path for the "Exchange Mobile Services" rule. This uses the "External443(basic)" listener which is also used by the "OWA FBA (External to Localhost)" rule. Are you saying that this can't be done? If so, does that mean that I can't use OWA/OMA/ActiveSync and RPC-HTTP all from the same IP address? Is getting a second IP for a separate Basic Auth listener for RPC-HTTP the only way?
Thanks for you help, Brad

Hi Brad,
You can't use the same IP address and the same listener on the external interface, but the /rpc/* redirect goes to the OWA site, while the /exchange/*, /exchweb/* and /public/* redirects go to the "local host" listener. So, you need two rules, one for OWA and one for ActiveSync/OMA/RPC

Thanks Tom.
Was that meant to be can, or can't as you have written?
Thanks, Brad
