I just want to know the answer a very simple question.
When you perform WPAD, what should the clients show up as in the ISA Monitoring Space? I have clients set up to automatically DETECT the web proxy and they show up as "SecureNAT" connections in the monitoring space. So is it working? Or is it NOT working?
When I enter settings into the client IE Browser, I can see the connections show up as "Web Proxy" connctions in the Monitoring space. So I am assuming something is NOT right when WPAD does not show up as Web Proxy, am I right or wrong?
SecureNAT DOES NOT make use of any caching right? And is SecureNAT the DEFAULT when WPAD fails to connect as Web Proxy?
*just trying to confirm, since I read but then you want to ask a teacher or something*

Can you let me know when this article is ready? I just want to know why when I put the Proxy details in IE manually, clients show up at Web Proxy + SecureNAT clients in ISA Monitoriing... But when I connect thru WPAD they show up at SecureNAT Clients only, which leads me to believe they are NOT connecting as Web Proxy clients, which means something is wrong with my WPAD setup?
Do other people see clients as Web Proxy clients in ISA Monitoring when they set up WPAD? Answer someone?

Hi DonC,
I wouldn't worry about them showing up as SecureNAT. You can remove that by removing the default gateway setting if you don't want to see it.
Check the log file and you'll see if they are Web proxy connections.
HTH, Tom
