Hi:

Installed ISA 2006 on a domain controller running Windows server 2003 R2 with 2 NIC's. 1st NIC on 192.168.0.0 network and second NIC on External network 196.26.91.0 and connected directly to CISCO router on Internet. Configured VPN access and can connect to VPN on internal network.

Problem comes up when I try to connect from the Internet. I get an
Error 800: Unable to establish VPN connection. If I check logging on ISA server I can see PPTP port 1723 being opened from the client and then closed without any errors. I also see the client opening HTTPS ports. Got no idea why it would want to open HTTPS when connecting via VPN. I can also telnet to port 1723 from the internet.

Any help will be appreciated.

Never Install a Firewall on a DC !! Unless it is SBS.
