From M'soft article, its recommended that ISA2004 should sit in standalone mode which mean that there is no extra services or application running on it.
But from ISA Server 2004 VPN Deployment Kit, it ask for the firewall machine (Localsite) is in Domain Members whereas the remote ISA2004 machine is in standalone mode.
So my question is, seem firewall is the first computer Internet intruders try to attack then is there any security issue if ISA2004 its in Domain members?
Also why do we need ISA2004 (Localsite) be a Domain member? It's becoz of AD? Can you give me more details on it?
