Hi folks,

Hope someone here can help!

I have a most peculiar situation that is totally annoying and perplexing me.

Basic setup is this - ISA 2004 on Win2k3 DC connected to 'net via ADSL PCI card. I know, I shouldn't have a DC connected to the 'net but this is my home "test" network!

Network rules / Access rules set up and all been running fine for months except this; wife & son want to play Call of Duty 2 online. I have a friend who runs his own gaming server, publicly hosted, and this is the server we want to play on.

They can't connect to his game on port 29960 since the "ping" is too high. I say "ping" because I'm not sure if the games actually use ICMP ping packets to test speed of connection.

Other ports on his server are fine, other servers are fine, just this one port is pinging at over 100 (more like 3 - 600 actually) and the game is set not to allow connections over a ping of 100.

I defined an allow access rule to his server for Internal network, have tried adding local host as well, (since it's a trusted box) - no difference.

Running the HLSW tool (which can be used to monitor many game servers at once and reports ping, users, maps etc) on my own PC (which has access rules to allow everything to everywhere) shows high ping on my mate's IP:29960, as does my wife's PC, but running it on the ISA box itself shows pings of 40 - 60 average.

Any ideas what might be causing one port to be so slow to my clients?

Any help REALLY appreciated!!
