Hi everyone I am in need of some help and advice hope you all can help.
Ok first off I know from reading the subject the first thing you all gong to suggest is the article on changing the isa firewall client setting for outlook from 1 to 0 (http://www.isaserver.org/articles/2004olpop3smtp.html). The thing is that this was done a long while ago in order to allow my xp client to use Microsoft Outlook.

My symptoms started when I installed vista ultimate machine onto my network, I installed the new isa firewall client and tried to access my pop and smtp to retrieve my. The error I am getting is (0x800ccc0D) cannot find the email server and (0x80040FC) the server name you entered cannot be found.

After monitoring the send and receive operation I got the following result, TCP 1745 unidentified and the connection closed

It is my understanding that TCP 1745 is what isa uses to facilitate communication with the isa server and firewall client note that this is only happening with vista! Also If I set the computer as a secureNAT client it work fine, so I guess the problem is the firewall client now allowing pop and smtp.

Thinking that this was a problem with my environment I tried the same situation as above at a different separate location and ran into the same problem

So guys you see my stress so can you please help me out

Are you using the latest firewall client software on your vista machine... The older viersion has compatibility issues.

are the VISTA Client & ISA Server joined to the same Domain ?

The Vista client is not a domain member

The ISA Server is a domain member.

i do have have problems using the Firewall Client on XP machines that are not joined to the domain .This problem only occurs with Vista .

anyone else had such issue ?

anyone using vista ?
