I am setting up ISA server, and am trying to use the DHCP 252 option, which specifies the name and location of the WPAD.DAT file. However I cannot find a copy of the file anywhere, and I have looked in several newsgroups.

Do you have a copy of a WPAD.DAT file or an example of one, and do you know exactly where it should be stored on our ISA server

Hi Jim,

The wpad.dat is one of the "emergent" files that exist after you make the request. You won't be able to find it anywhere, but when you configure the WPAD entries in DNS or DHCP, the clients will be able to obtain the correct information.
