I have setup our email server to allow https connections. I have setup a webserver rule in isa server that redirects requests from outside to the internal email server. From outside our company everything works perfectly, but if you are inside the company network and try to connect via the external IP we use from the outside the connection will fail. If I watch the log I see the port 443 connection as being initiated and later closed, but nothing is ever displayed in the browser. We get a quick page cannot be displayed error. I am using the IP address so I do not think DNS is the issue. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Use a Web Chaining Rule.

Create a Computer Object with the external IP address in it. If your users will be accessing it with a domain name, also create a Domain Name Set with the domain name in it.

Next, create a Web Chaining Rule.

On the Action Tab, select "Process Requests By Redirecting them to a hosted site" and put the internal IP of the hosted server in for Site.

On the To Tab, add the network objects you created earlier.

Save and apply, should solve your problem assuming there are not any certificate problems.
