Web Publishing TCP Connections Memory Leak - 8.Nov.2006 10:18:03 AM

Hi,

ISA 2006 on Windows 2003 SP1, 512MB RAM, 1800+ AMD.

I have a web publishing rule for a mail web client that uses AJAX.

I had flood control enabled and after 4 hours or so, it would block the client IP saying too many active connections. I increased the value, it went longer but still blocked.

I disabled the flood control, and now there's a memory leak and ISA denies the client with a No Memory Left error. Probably allocating memory for each new connection...but shouldn't ISA kill some of the older ones instead of puking?

I didn't have this problem on ISA 2004, so I'm pretty sure it's not the client, but it could be...I'm using SSL so i haven't had a chance to look at the TCP yet.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Andrew

Followup to above post...After some investigation, i found some more info...

ISA Server 2006 web publishing...SSL to client, HTTP to server.

i am publishing a webmail server and it looks like ISA is not closing connections...

I have from a single IP almost 200 CLOSE_WAIT connections from client to ISA server and another 200 from ISA to the backend server...

The backend server properly closes the connections, but it looks like ISA is not clearing them...

Is this a bug? is there a setting to making the close_waits time out faster?

This causes excessive memory consumption of wspsrv and also prohibits using flood control

Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Andrew
