Everytime I setup I a web publishing rule it doesn't work. I don't know if I am setting up the rule properly and was wondering if anyone would be able to explain the correct way to set it up. This is what I've been doing so far.

1. Change the IP address of the website to an internal address.
2. Add the IP address of the webserver to the External NIC of the ISA server
3. Setup the web publishing rule.
A. Enter web publishing rule name
B. Select the action to allow
C. Under define website to publish I enter the external IP of the web site
D. Check the box to forward the original host header
E. For Path I put the path on the server where the web files are stored /path/website
F. Then I select Accept request for this domain name type below then I enter in its fqdn www.mydomainname.com
G. Select the web listener which is set to listen for web requests on port 80 on the external and internal NICs
H. I set it for all users then clicked finish.
I. Clicked apply rules to make it active.

When I try and hit the site is always comes up with page cannot be displayed. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. So If anyone could help I would really appreicate it. Thanks.

Hi Anthony,

I think there might be a problem with your path. The path contains the folder(s) or file(s) within the path of the Web root. If you are wanting them to go to the Web root and access the entire site, you don't enter anything in the path.

HTH,
Tom
