Hi,

I'm running Windows 2003 Server SP1 with ISA 2004 SP1.

The problem I'm seeing is as I browse round one of our websites, every now
and then the requests seem to get lost or never makes it to IIS.

The error I get is this:

"The page cannot be displayed
Error Code: 500 Internal Server Error. Internet Control Message Protocol
(ICMP) network is unreachable."

If I hit refresh on the browser the page displays without any problems.

This is the other error I get randomly:

The page cannot be displayed
Error Code 64: Host not available
Background: The connect to the web server was lots.

It took hitting the refresh button 5 times before the page finally showed
this time.

I've done a screen shot of the monitoring log results from ISA04. I see I'm getting a "Failed Connection attempt". You can view the screen shot here: http://www.backpackpro.co.nz/downloads/isa04prob.jpg

Any ideas?

Hi Tristan,

In a similar issue I had the problem was on the version of internet explorer I was using. I would get the error if I used the latest IE. I was not using ISA as a proxy but squid.

Hi,

The behaviour seems to go away if I change the following settings in my Web Publishing rule:

Unticked "forward the original host header"

Changed "Requests appear to come from the original client"

to:

"Requests appear to come from ISA Server computer"

Can somebody explain why it would now work? Although I'm now noticing a few gif images are not showing until I press refresh!
