I'm a bit confused here. I went through the web publising wizard. And I just get a 403 page when trying to access the web site from an internal or external client computer. I used a hosts file on the ISA server because we don't have a split DNS. I can access the web site just fine directly from the ISA server. But not from an internal or external client.
I also have an odd situation with a OWA published site. I can get to that one from an external client or directly from the ISA server but not from an internal client. From an internal client I just get a page that says....
The page cannot be displayed
Cannot find server or DNS Error
It is almost as if the ISA server isn't using the hosts file to resolve the name when an internal client tries to connect to the web site.
Any ideas? [ May 11, 2005, 05:30 PM: Message edited by: PCC ]

Hi PCC,
For internal clients, they should NOT loop back through the ISA firewall to reach the OWA site. Make sure you're using Direct Access for internal sites.

Hi Tom,
I have the Internal network Web Browser tab set for direct access and added the web sites to the list on that tab. I even went as far as adding the fully qualified domain names of the web sites to the Domains tab of the Internal network and I still get the same results. I'm baffled because I was using a hosts file on our ISA 2000 server and didn't have any problems at all. But I can't help but think that it has to do with how the ISA server is reading the hosts file for some reason...but only when the site is requested by a client.
I know that everything is working properly from the ISA server itself because if I go to the OWA web site while on the ISA server I don't get the FBA login page like I do from an external client. I'm just sent directly to the web server, which is what it should be doing. But for some reason my other site isn't working from any client, internal or external, only from the ISA server itself.
Any other ideas?
Thanks, Pete
