Hi!

My ISA 2004 machine configured to use a single network adapter and is connected to the DMZ interface of some hardware-firewall.
Only Port 8080 (default ISA-Webproxy settings) is allowed from LAN to DMZ.
Clients use Windows 2000 SP4 and IE 6 SP1.

As long as the clients are configured as webproxy-clients (WITHOUT default gateway and NO possibility to resolve internet names) all request are sent by IE to the ISA-Server Port 8080 (including FTP traffic).
If I configured the clients to be able to resolve internet-names (using the internal DNS + forwarder) the ignore the IE's proxy settings and try to connect to the FTP-Server directly using FTP and Port 21.

As port 21 is probhibited by the hardware-firewall the request never reaches the ISA-Server and the request times out.

What can I do to make the IE using it's proxy settings although it is able to resolve the FTP-Server's name itself?

Thank your for your help!

Dagmar
