First off, sorry if this is in the wrong place!

When logging on to certain secure websites, eg. webtrends, after entering the username and password for the site, the authentication box just sits there and reprompts for the password. If the URL in question is added to the bypass proxy list in Internet Explorer then there is no problem.

We use isa 2004 as the proxy for IE 6 clients

thanks for the hint but that box is unchecked already. Do you think its a Internet explorer setting or an ISA setting?

I must add the problem only started to appear after the users were migrated to an AD 2003 domain and upgraded to XP. They are now just normal users on their PCs where as before they were local admins.

This is the site that is causing problems:

Just solved this by accident.

I applied the hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=915045  to fix the infamous proxy 502 error and it also fixed the webtrends authentication problem.

Result!!

I have exactly the same issue on our ISA2004 array. the url is www.culllive.co.uk/alchemyweb

The password is rejected going through ISA2004, but if I access through our old isa2000 server I can login no problems. Our ISA2004 setup is SP1, not SP2 so this patch (mentioned above) would not be applicable. Also checked the browser optionfor HTTP 1.1 through proxy and this does not make any difference if it is set on or off. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Paul

Why not apply SP2 and this patch?
