After you install ISA it says please reconfigure or remove/reinstall IIS to not use Port 80. I know this is because the ISA listener then uses the port itself. Now if you place a website on the local ISA machine and try to use 80 it says address in use when trying to start the site. If you stop ISA the site will start ok. If you then start ISA the webproxy logs events to the effect that it was unable to bind to port 80. So I have published a tsacweb site on 81. All works fine. BUT! Small business Server 2000 allows the co-existance of ISA and OWA on the same machine on the same port. How can this be? Why can't you do it with BackOffice2000? I have been asked to find out if there is any way to enable ISA and IIS on port 80 on the same machine. I have recommended against it but this is management asking so I have to at least try (you know how it is). Any info or tips would be good.

Thanks

Are you sure that SBS2k binds ISA and OWA to the same port ??.
What is the problem of conf. the IIS to listen on the 81 and ISA on the 80, and make apropiate web publishind rules ?

Yes I'm sure SBS2k is listening on port 80 because all the OWA sites have to be on 80 or several errors will be reported in the exchange management console when working with the Public Folders (see KB article Q282076). If you setup a website with a port other than 80 you have to specify it in the URL when requesting the site. You cannot publish a site through ISA and redirect it to another port because the site itself is listening on port 81 or whatever port you give it. So if I gave a site port 81 and then setup a publishing rule in ISA to redirect any request for that site to port 81, the site would not display unless you added :81 to the end of the URL. We don't want the users (some of whom will be memebers of the public) to have to specify the port when attaching to the site.

I want to do the same thing. I think the way to do this is to not use server publishing. Instead, just create a packet filter to allow traffic on port 80.
