How do I get my site to come up without the need to always type http://www.mysite.com rather than just http://mysite.com?
It is giving me: 403 Forbidden - The server denies the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Contact the server administrator. (12202) Internet Security and Acceleration Server

This could be both the config of your web publishing rule AND if your using host-headers in IIS.

Hi J,
Do you have a DNS entry for your site?
Thanks! Tom

If it's not the ISA configuration - check the host headers on the web server (sorry "m" I know you already said this, but just in case.....)
If you are using headers and you want both "www.site.com" and "site.com", you need an entry for each.
(In IIS manager, click "Properties", select "Web Site" and in the section "Web Site Identification" click "Advanced")

Thanks guys! I added the additional host header entry and it worked. One question though, why do I need host headers here? OWA will ONLY work if I use host headers... Other websites I just forward to the internal IP and it works no problem.

Hi J,
Not sure what's going on with your config, but I can assure you that host headers are not required on the Web site.
HTH, Tom

Hi Malc,
Now, let's not get confused regarding headers. You DO need to use a FQDN in the Web Publishing Rule. You just don't need to use Host Headers at the Web site.
However, if you're using Server Publishing Rules instead of Web Publishing Rules, you're absolutely right! A good way to stop the worm is to require the correct host header in the request. If the worm just sends an IP address or www, then the host header won't match and the worm won't be able to access the site.
Thanks! Tom

Darn, I knew I'd missed something, but you got to it before I'd had a chance to clarify.... just when do you sleep, Tom?
Yes, I'm using server publishing (so that I can get the visiting IP address). And I was refering to the IIS "Host Name Header" entry.
I think I've said it before "You explained it far better than I could".
Thankx, Malc
