We use Exchange 5.5 and ISA on seprate Win2K Servers. I have one external domain (as far as I know) that cannot send SMTP mail to us. When we tried to manually connect: telnet x.x.x.x 25 ehlo domain.com etc.
They get the initial reply but as soon as they try to type ehlo they get disconnected. When viewing this problem from their mail server (MDaemon) they get a Winsock error 10053.
They have no other problems and I can connect to them with no problem.
Sorry this was so long but...
Any help?? Mike

Hi Mike,
Is SP1 installed on the ISA Server?
Thanks!

No not yet...
I am planning to it soon though. Do think it will help or is it more "it can't hurt to try"?

Hi, Mike C
Try this:
Firts that all try to install SP1 on ISA, then if the problem persist, right Click on the Server Publishing Rules, and Click on the Secure Mail Server(Check this configuartion).
If the problem still. Make a new IMC to the domainx, whit an address space only for that domain(only for testing puspose)enable mail logging.

I know this is rather a late reply, but we have had similar problems and I thought it might help someone out there. When we added a new Mail Publishing rule, ISA enabled the SMTP filter. This doesn't know about some of the newer SMTP commands and stops domains that use newer SMTP commands from sending mail in.
Solution: Disable the SMTP filter!
