Hey guys,
I have a 40 user network running on a isa firewall with surfcontrol v5 and also a caching dns.
I know that isa does not need a very fast but surfcontrol needs at least a p4 with 1GB of ram.
I am running all this on a p3 1Ghz with 1.5GB of ram. It seems to be running fine most of the time but sometimes i get no response was the proxy or very slow response. What do you guys think it might be?? Also what spec's is your isa box's in what kind of a environment?? Just so i have something to go back to the IT manager and say SEE we need a faster server "[Wink]"

I run a dual p4 xeon with 512mb ram, and I use a different web filter than surfcontrol.
I average anywhere between 20 and 150 users at any given time. I had a problem with slow response once when the sql service had almost all the system memory in use, and no connection when I had the connection limit set to low. Before I would go to the IT manager I would try and capture some system stats during the time it�s sluggish and a network analyzer to make sure your own network isn�t the cause.
