Hi All!
I have upgraded my ISA2000 to ISA 2004 on my SBS 2003 box. After some manual tweaking (Watching what goes wrong on the monitoring tool and allowing that) I have almost everything working... except the "Connect to server desktop" option from my https://[publicname]/remote website. I never get the terminal window but the monitoring tool doesn't give me a clue what is actually blocked. Anyone any idea?
Thanks!
Tony.

After testing and trying a little more I found this: On the SBS 2003 a "SBS Remote Web Workplace CustomFilter7" exists which has port 4125. Create a rule that allows External to Local Host on this port. This will enable the ability to connect to the server desktop. If you want to allow end-users to connect to their desktops via the remote workplace you need to do two things: 1) Open up port 3389 on the firewall of the Windows XP CLIENT (if you have SP2 installed). If you updated the server with KB842933 (Click here to download) then the XP Client Firewall settings are already configured for this. 2) Create a rule that allows access from Local Host to Internal on port 3389.
Now an external client can connect to the server through 4125 and the server can connect to the remote client on port 3389.
Thanks, Tony.

Hi Tony,
I've tested the ISA firewall in front of an SBS box (I would NEVER EVER install it on an SBS box), and it appears that you need to configure the SPR to use the ISA firewall's address.
Remember, the ISA firewall should NEVER been installed on the SBS box itself.

Out of curiosity....if ISA Server "should never be installed on the SBS box" why does Microsoft sell it that way? Just curious!

ISA server its refers as ISA 2000 that it is inclueded in SBS.
ISA Firewall its refers as ISA 2004,
There is not version of SBS whit ISA 2004 and Microsoft offered already an upgrade (Mayor upgrade) for this, that will be available soon.

A pure marketing decision, NOT a security decision.
