Hi all!
I've a range of 8 public ip addresses and i don't know what type of DMZ i should use and how i have to subnet this public ip block (81.221.x.184-81.221.x.191 with a subnet 255.255.255.248).
What is the best solution that i don't "lose" public addresses for NetID/Broadcast/NIC(s) of the ISA Server(s)?
At the moment, i have a trihomed ISA Server with only 1 public address available in the perimeter network (

Hi Phil,
First, examine the reasons for putting together a trihomed DMZ. Do you really need it? Or would you be better served by publishing the servers on the internal network. If you subnet your current block (the 248 mask), that leaves you with a mask of 252 and two usable IP addresses on each network.

Hi Tom!
I have two server to host and i think the DMZ is the right place for them... but, when i subnet my .248-subnet in two networks (each with a .252 subnet address), i "lose" to much public ip addresses (2 net id, 2 broadcast and 2 nic plus one for the DSL router) and i only can use one ip within the DMZ. I think with a Back-to-Back DMZ with public addresses, the situation is same, isn't it?
Chears, phil
