O.K. After weeks of reading and learning about SSL, ISA and Exchange 2K/OWA2K, I have finally been able to get OWA2K to work over a SSL connection through my ISA server .

When I browse to my Exchange virtual directory (www.mydomain.com/exchange) from an outside location I am first prompted to accept my certificate. Once I accept the certificate I am then prompted for my name and password. After I have enterd my name and password I am then forwarded to my inbox courtesy of OWA2K. However, then and only then does the little lock appear in the bottom corner of my browser.

My question is this... If I am browsing to a URL with 'HTTPS://' is my name and password information being sent over SSL even though I don't see the lock on the bottom corner of the browser? How do I know that my credentials are being communicated securely?

Thanks,

Vince

Hi Vince,

Your credentials should be protected by SSL. However, run a quick Network Monitor trace on the external interface during the log on process, and you'll be able to assure yourself.

HTH,
Tom
