Hi,

New user here. We've got a problem we've isolated to the fact that the VPN client we're trying to connect to our ISA 2004 box is behind a NAT device. The setup is as follows:

ISA 2004 SP1 (on Windows 2003 SP1) (Public routable IP on External interface)
Internet
NAT Router
Client (XP SP1 - trying to connect using L2TP)

Installing SP2 on the clients isn't an option as it's yet to go through our testing, and will probably break other things on our standard desktop build. I see MS used to offer a NAT-T patch, but that's now been withdrawn? Is there anywhere I can download that patch from, or failing that is there a 3rd party alternative VPN client that I can use that is L2TP capable?

Many thanks,

Simon.

This one is a pain in the ass to find.

Go to the Windows Update Catalog.

<Deep breath>

1. Hit the option for Find Updates for Microsoft Windows operating systems
2. From the Operating Systems list, select Windows XP SP1 only - do not choose any other option or this will fail
3. Hit the link for Advanced Search Options and in the Contains these words line, enter 818043 and then select Search

In the results screen, you should have one hit under Recommended Updates and this should be listed there.

I had this saved in a Word doc so sorry for the Windows Update 101 stuff - I just ran through it and the fix was listed there.

That's brilliant, thanks very much. Have downloaded it now!

Thought it was lost to the world forever. [Smile]

Thanks again

Simon.
