I am trying to set up a site to site VPN connection and all appears to be correctly configured, however it is still not working. Question is if my external NW interface has a range of ip addresses say it was 84.175.12.4 - 8 which ip should i give as the external one to connect to or will it work with any of the external ip addresses?

Hi Al,

I would use the primary address (the one on the top of the list), although the listener is set for the External network so any address should be usable.

Looks like that is not the problem, another double check then.

I have 2 networks branch and main using 192.168.1.0 and 192.168.2.0 and trying to get the VPN working between them. Question is at each end what should the default gateway settings be eg If the firewall in the 192.168.1.0 network is ip 192.168.1.1 should it's ip be the DG setting for all clients?

Also if i add the external ip address of the firewall at the branch network to it's network definition in ISA 2004 it seems to cause more problems.

(Similarily on 192.168.2.0 FW 192.168.2.1 it is the DG for clients)

To add to this the Firewall machines default gateways are set to the ADSL routers that connect them to the internet.
