Who can teach me how can block messenger 6? I have try thounds methods to block messenger 6, but I found it start use Proxy server port. For ex: our proxy server is 192.168.20.1:8080 and messenger 6 dectected automaticly, so all client can easyly cross firewall to outside. pls,Someone help me solve this, otherwise I will lose my Job. Thanks from my heart.

Hi,

Block this tcp port 1863 & 7001.

Also Block these destination in S&C rule.

messenger.msn.com
gateway.messenger.com
e450.voice.microsoft.com

Unfortunately the mentioned sollutions aren't all the things you need to do. Don't forget to:

1. Disable your Socks4 Proxy
2. Disable your Web Proxy

Furthermore, MSN WILL try a lot to connect to the internet.

And even then, users WILL find a way to get through. I've been able to bypass almost any Firewall for MSN/Yahoo. It takes a little knowledge, but don't think all users are baboons [Wink]
