my isa server web cache works fine on my internal network but when i try to ping my isa svr. external ip address outside my network i cant resolve it. im a newbiew, is it just the policy i am experiencing?

Did you install ISA in cache onyl mode, or integrated?
If cache only - I'm confused too!
If integrated, then it's a 'standard fature' of ISA (and many other firewalls to boot) to no respond to ICMP/ping queries.
There's a whole bunch of packet filters setup for ICMP.
You should however be able to ping you ISA external IP from teh ISA server machine itself.

I'd install the integrated mode, why is there any default policy if install integrated cant reply when ping? and cant use as a webserver but inside network webcache & Firewall?
