I have ISA 2000 SP1 installed in firewall and caching mode. All of my TCPIP applications work fine without the firewall client. I have made a rule to allow all ports from my small, single segment internal network. I would prefer not to install the FC if I dont have to but there are a couple of apps that can't seem to live without it -> (Kazaa) and some streaming stuff from Windows Media player. I have also been told that MSN gaming will not work without it (not that I care about gaming) I guess my real question is.... Why is the firewall client needed if all the default gateway for the machine is set to the internal nic of the ISA server?? I read an article about configuring kazaa by opening secondary ports but that didn't work either.

btw: I did buy the ISA server 2000 book that's promoted on the site (dont know if that earns me any brownie points for this question (-: )
Thanks.

1) The only Firewall Client can authorise the access by user name to protocols other then HTTP(S).

2) The only Firewall Client can use secondary connections in protocol definition.

2) The only Firewall Client can authorise the applications access by EXE-name and presetted credentials.
