Off the top of my head, I can think of several reasons:

  1. No third party software required
  2. No finger-pointing when things go wrong
  3. No software installation on the client required - DA is built into the operating system
  4. DirectAccess is not a VPN - it's a intranet extension method that extends the intranet to all managed clients
  5. DirectAccess is more secure - using multiple IPsec tunnels and HTTPS encryption to provide a much higher level of security
  6. DirectAccess is based on IPv6, which means out of the box its ready for the networks of tomorrow
  7. UAG DirectAccess supports DNS64/NAT64, which means out of the box its ready for the networks you have today
  8. The client is FREE - no client side licensing

There are more reasons - if you think of them please continue them on this thread.

Thanks!
Tom
