Wildcard Website - 31.Mar.2004 7:05:00 PM
Guest
Hi,

is it possible to pubblish a wildcard website ?
i would like to pubblish for example test.xy.xy.com and test1.xy.xy.com pointing to the same web server as wildcard. So the webmaster must only set the host header on the webserver on the internal net and no change to pubblishing rules are neccessary. this we do for demo purpose.
Wildcard Dns is ok and tested.

thx

Just add '*.yx.yx.com' in the destination set used by the web publishing rule.

If you want ssl, dig out Tom's article on wildcard ssl certificates. It's round here somewhere...

Basically a certificate named '*.yx.yx.com' will work for both (how widely is anyone's guess - see my post on the effect it has with Outlook's rpc over http).
