Greetings:

I am planning to begin the deployment of VPN connection through the ISA server installed here at work ,I have three servers ,one as the ISA server with two NCIS,the second is the Domain Controller and the third one is the Database server ,the ISA server is a member of the domain and acting as the gateway to the internet with various access rules installed ,my question is simply that:when I do enable the VPN connection ,will the VPN clients be able to work with the Database server as if they are working in their workstations? ,ofcource the MSAcess application will be installed locally on their Home PCs but will it be successful and will they be able to do their work once successfully conected through VPN? or will I have to publish the Database server using ISA server?

I have read the tutorial on the web site and based on my quick glance it didn't state clearly if it work or not?

Hi Night,
Yeah, that should work.
How fast?
Why don't you give it a go and see what's happening.
Be careful and start with an allow all rule(testing) from VPN Clients to Internal in order not to block yourself with ISA.

Thanks alot for your quick reply

I have already created all the required access rules ,will give it a try and post th results although I am still don't understand why it's written in various places on the Internet that it wouldn't work without publishing the Application/Database server first.

If there is a route relationship between the VPN Clients Network and the Internal network I do not see why you need to publish anything.
The access rules should work just fine.
Where it says so ?
Do they offer an explanation for this?
