I am experiencing the following problem, can anyone help?

After installing the AD client extensions on Win98 PCs running the Firewall client. It causes any application accessing the internet through the firewall client to crash. Access through the proxy server is not affected. Our main problem is with explorer and Frontpage although I have tried FTP from the command promt and it does the same thing.

The error recieved is: "FTP caused an invalid page fault in module NEGOTIAT.DLL at 0167:02533e43."

I have installed SP1 and updated the firewall clients and tried re-installing in various combinationbs to no avail.

P.S. Does anyone know how to uninstall the AD client extensions?

What is AD client anyway? [Confused]

Try to remove it from control panel/add remove programe. or se 3rd party removal tools. [Roll Eyes]

AD Client (or Active Directory client) allows Win9x to talk to Active Directory properly. Also known as Directory Services client as I have now discovered, Microsoft seem unsure what to call it. I have found it in add/remove programs now as DS Client, so I can remove it.

Problem is I need it and I need ISA client on the same PC.

yeah there is a bug in it. it will kill any application using it.. such as adobe products and whatnot.. i ended up disabling the FW clients on the 98 boxes.

For any one still having issues with this I have since discovered that deleting the neogiat.dll file, installed by the firewall client. Seems to cure all the problems in win98 without any advers affects.
