Hello all,

I've been running a ISA server now for 6 months and had few if any problems. Now I'm getting some strange problems.

ISA is fitted with 2 NIC's, usual ports are blocked. Win2k with SP4 and updates.

Heres the problem we've had. When I install the MS Firewall client everthing goes fine, but when I go to use apps they all fail. FlashFXP (FTP app) even displays this error "Unable to resolve host:ftp.microsoft.com". MSN Messenger will not sign in and all others fail.

Now heres the odd bit. If I change the "Use this ISA server" box to use our old MS Proxy 2 everthing works.

Also the IE browser seems to be slow to lookup/display pages and if I change the connection info to use the old MS Proxy 2 everything goes that little bit quicker.

Now this has only happened in the last few weeks and I have not changed anything of note. Any help on this would be greatly welcomed.
Regards
David

Just applied all the patches I could lay my hands on and the above error now gives my more info. Oh BTW the log events are off an internal PC not the ISA Server. Sorry

I have been getting the same error when I turn on the proxy client - If i just keep the PC as a secureNat client - everything seems fine.

I recently had my PDC die a bad death and i had to seize allot of Active Directory services and re-establish a trust between 2 separate domains.

Anyway have you gotten anywhere with this issue?

I am now getting the same error. Friday everthing was working fine. I updated with some of the latest critical patches, and now I can not authenticate against the server. Has anyone figured this out yet.

There is a patch available for this. If you go to the Microsoft Download page, not he Knowledge base, and search in the ISA technology for "winsock" there is a hot fix isahf257.exe that will correct the problem.
