Hi,
I remember reading some time ago before ISA SP1 came out that it wasn't compatible at that time with Windows .NET server beta 3.
Does anyone know whether the ISA service pack 1 made it compatible? Is this later release of Server beta 3 (released last week Build 3604.1) compatible.
I am thinking of trying it out but I won't bother if ISA doesn't work on beta 3.
Any help appreciated,
Craig

Hi,
Actually, it's been a few hours since i posted that and thought i would try anyway.
On the new build of Beta 3 - it came up with a few errors on installation saying services could not start but this was fixed by applying ISA SP1 and it seems pretty stable now and all services seem to be working ok (imported via toms importexport vbscript-Thanks tom) and secure.
Could you clarify if you are using the latest Beta 3 build and what sort of problems you have seen with ISA - i will then make a decision whether to back it out to Windows 2000... I thought I would try it.
Beta 3 seems pretty stable apart from Exchange 2000 (Don't go there!)
SQL 2000 seems ok, as does Active directory.
Thanks
Craig

Hi Craig,
From what I understand, ISA Server with SP1 should work fine with Beta 3.

Tom,
Thanks for the reply. Is there any way I can test that everything is working and secure (like an external security checker-I remember there was such a thing a few months back)
Everything *appears* to be working fine but sometimes appearances can be deceiving!
All help appreciated - I actually want to use beta 3 as I need a feature of IIS6 and I want to load test it. XP Professional just can't handle it!
Thanks
Craig

Hi.craigmc
Your Right, in my Test enviroment Whit .NET Built (3604.1)all the services go weel and the Cache and Proxy functions go well too........But when i try to test things like(Web Publishing Rules(5), and Server Publushin Rules(5)the ISA goes Down, i mean, the Rules dosnŠt work like they do in Windows 2000, Another Issue is the SMTP Filter DosnŠt work(Attachments) whit .NET........Conclusion....Beta is Beta!

Abraham,
Thanks for the information, I know it's a beta and it needs to be regarded like that - I wasn't sure whether you were running Beta 3 3604.1 or an earlier Beta 3 hence my questions.
I am not using the SMTP filter or web publishing at the moment so I hope I will be able to continue to use it for now.
Thanks for the information, I will see how it goes. If it's not stable it's back to good ol Windows 2000 server
Regards,
Craig

1.test was a W2K ADV SP2 with ISA ENT SP1 Upgraded to .NET Server 3590 ( Enterprise Server ) It worked so great that it has Permanent place in the network 2.now I am testing W2K ADV SP2 - ISA ENT SP1 - Exchange 2000 ENT SP2 -SQL 2000 ENT SP2 Upgraded to .NET Server 3621 ( Standaard Server )
Small problem ,you Can't Upgrade a W2K ADV to .NET Standaard Server ~will try the 3590 [ May 15, 2002, 01:41 PM: Message edited by: Spacebunny ]
