Hi, I want to ask, it is safe to using SSL connection with Windows 2000 CA? I have publishing OWA using that way and force to using SSL connection. It's work but when I check the certificate it's note as not trusted certifite author. Thanks for your help.

Hi lzd212,

Yes it is safe, the message about the certificate not being a trusted certificate author, is in my opinon an unfortunate side effect of using the windows 2000 CA. It is possible to configure the Windows 2000 CA as a trusted certificate author, if you have control of the computers that are accessing your OWA, for example if your users are accessing OWA via a laptop or home computer.

HTH.

Hi pinball,
Thanks for your reply, I'm a newbie about SSL and have no experience about that. If you don't mind I want ask a few questions :1. It's necessary to install the certificate on clients side? I still doubt about SSL concept. It's work after SSL cert install on server&clients side or there's enough only in server side? 2.I have read a documentations about securing OWA using ISA server http://www.winnetmag.com/Articles/Index.cfm?ArticleID=38099, in there suggested to generate CSR in CA server, do I have to install CA server on my server?and if I'm buying SSL cert what type of SSL I have to buy? I have to buy SSL server cert&SSL for clients or only for server?
Thanks,
