I'm new to ISA 2004. We will be using ISA 2004 for it's proxy services. We
have a mixture of Windows 2000 professional and Windows XP professional
client computers.
The problem is that we can't get the Windows 2000 clients to authenticate to
ISA, configuring them as a Web Proxy client or a Firewall client. Windows XP
clients work fine configured as Web Proxy clients. What do we need to do to
get the Windows 2000 clients to authenticate to ISA? Thanks for your help.

Yep, service pack 4, plus updates. We have WSUS so we are pretty up to date.

Thanks for the response though.
After searching and searching I found a message that referred to this
document: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/239869

Apparently on our windows 2000 computers the NTLM authentication level is
set to low. Looking at the reg that this document specifies shows that our XP
computers are set to level 2 while our Win2k machines are set to level 0.
Changing the win2k computers to level 2 fixes the problem.

Does this sound legitimate? Any other insite into this would be appreciated. Thanks.
