2 Issues today: I have traveling clients running Windows 98 and Windows 2000 that need to get mail while on the road. They all use Outlook 2000 and AT&T Global Network Dialer for internet access. My Win2K clients can get their email w/o a problem. My Win98 clients are prompted for a username and password when Outlook tries to transfer mail. Their username and password do not work. Is this something in the NT Authentication process? Help meeeeee. Also, clients checking mail through outlook express are not able to do so. They get the follwing error: There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'Work E-mail', Server: 'XXX.XXX.XXX.206', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR A required privilege is not held by the client.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92 I think maybe the two issues are related. Thank you! ------------------ ========================= Micah Steed I.T. Technique www.ittechnique.com =========================

Hi Micah, Are you publishing the internal mail server using the server publishing rules to make 25 and 110 available? You might set the site to require basic instead of integrated authentication. Although Win9x is always a crapshoot HTH, Tom ------------------ http://www.isaserver.org/shinder/ Get It Here!

The ISA server is running on the same machine as Exchange. I know this isn't ideal, but I inherited the system and didn't want to re-install too many things. Anyway, I can't use the mail server publishing wizard because I get an error message to the effect of "no external address available". Should I disable socket pooling?? I will try changing the authentication on the site. Thanks, Micah Steed
