At a customer we have An ISA server on a Windows 2000 server, Clients with
Windows 2k and some with Windows 9x.
The Win2k clients all work fine...but sometimes on the Windows 9x clients,
browsing to the internet is impossible and the message appears that the page
cannot be displayed, after trying a few times after each other, the internet
works fine, for this time, but when we try it later, the same problem
occurs....What could this be ?
Please help

Win9x does not support host name registration in DNS becauze its only support Netbios protocol check your WINS database for win9x (netbios name registration).

if you use windows 2000 dns and dhcp you can have the dhcp auto populate dns for pre win2000 clients.

It means that W2K's DHCP will update the dns for those clients that doesn't support the dynamic dns registration. So also win9x clients will be present in your DNS zone.

Bye
