Well I've worked on it long and hard and I'm finally stumped.

ISA 2004 SP1
Front End and Back End Both Exchange 2003 SP1

Trying to publish the SMTP Server(Front End).
On the ISA server my SMTP rule has
requests appear to come from the Original Client selected, and I can telnet to the server from outside as well as receive the correct Host headers on any mail I receive.

However If I install Windows SP1 (Yep, Windows SP1) on the Front End then I cannot telnet to the server nor do email messages come in unless I select "Requests appear to come from the ISA server"

End Result I have to select the option "Requests appear to come from the ISA server" but lose my host headers as they are all replaced with the IP and name of the ISA server!

Has anyone seen this?

Hi Orc,

Good news. SMTP does *not* have host headers.

Also, SP1 will have effect on SMTP server publishing.

HTH,
Tom
