Dear All,
as soon I have installed Windows 2003 Server service pack 1, my ISA 2004 SP1 sto responding SMTP and POP3 connection from internet. Internally I can telnet to my Exchange without problem. From the ISA Server it works, but from the internet I cant. ON the Logging I see: Rule SMTP: Failed to create connection". I tryed to remove SP1 but anything change... i tryed to setup new publishing rules, reapply Isa SP1, but nope... Other published server works fine... any idea? "[Confused]"

Hi Nicola,

Did this problem start after applying Windows 2003 SP1 to the ISA firewall or to the Exchange Server?

Hi Tom,
Yes, on two different ISA2004 Standard Installation with already installed ISA SP1.

I removed the service pack once and it didn't worked. Reapply but not worked, then removed and wont work.

5 minutes ago I changed the SMTP rule:
on the "To:" tab I changed the "appearing" selection to "ISA server" and then back to "remote Computer" and now is running... [Confused]

When it didn't work, the VPN Site-to-Site was running, publishing other web server were ok, but the SMTP, POP3 and OWA publishing doesn't worked.

Hi all..

It was working since 1 hour ago... and then it stop... I restarted the server and he works for 1 hour and then stop... I tried to change the settings as I sayed before but nothing changed... [Confused]

I tryed to reapply ISA2004 SP1 but nothing changed... I think Windows 2003 Server SP1 changed some filter... POP3, SMTP and OWA publishing isn't working anymore... [Confused]

The strange thing is the a client on another network connected with site-to-site VPN (ISA2004-2004) can browser files on the other site but Outlook 2003 (cached mode) in RPC can't connect anymore... I have read something on RPC corruption with Windows Server SP1, but nothing to do with POP3 or SMTP publishing...
