Can anyone help me with an issue. I have several PC that i'm not able to get windows updates on These PC all have new OS copies however once i connect them to the SBS 2003 network i can;t seem to get updates. Now i tried this offsite (at home) and it work so i would imagine that the issue is with the ISA 2000 server.

Please help.

IT all depends on how you configure each one but i suspect either Http access is block or they can not resolve the DNS of the server.

In ISA 2004 this problem goes away as by default the windowsupdate sites are allowed [Smile]

ISA doesn't "block" update sites to any extent unless you specifically say so. Ive never really known a Micro$oft product to block another micro$oft service.....

If updates are working on some PCs but not others... it might be the systems not ISA that is the problem. Are Windows updates enabled? Do you use a SUS, WUS server or MOM 2003 to handle updates?? Have you actually checked the event log to see if there has been a WUpdate service problem logged?? Checked Active directory and group policy??

Those are a few questions to concider when you are in a corporate environment. Check the ISA logs to see if there are any lost packets logged between those pcs and Windowsupdate

It is really too general a question to pinpoint something specific - so have a go checking those error logs [Smile]
