In the previous email, I said I had problems with MSN/YAHOO messenger, that happend on the Server with ISA running on, but just now I installed MSN/YAHOO at client, both working fine, even I didn't open all ip protocols, just keep all the default settings. It's really wired! could you tell me why?

Hi J,

The default settings block all outbound access, so you must have some Protocol Rules in place to support outbound access

When you run applications and services on the ISA Server itself, you have to create packet filters to support them. The exception to this are applications that can be configured as Web Proxy clients. In that case, just configure the application to be a Web Proxy client.

However, if you are using a dial-up connection, be sure you check out my article on this issue at www.isaserver.org/shinder

HTH,
Tom
