Does anyone know if Microsoft changed something with the latest Firewall Client or a patch that breaks the ability to access the config page on a wireless router ( specifically a dlink ) if the IE proxy settings are turned on in the Firewall Client ? Proper internal DNS resolution no longer works correctly either. Everything used to work just fine but I just built a new machine with all the latest stuff and now it doesn't.

Hi,

you need to configure Internal Webpages to be Direct Access.

How do you do that ? And why didn't I need to do that before ? Plus doesn't "bypass proxy server for local addresses" address using 192.168.0.1 on a machine with an ip address of 192.168.0.x ?

The server has nothing to do with it. The problem is on the workstation.

If you answered my last question, you would have the answer by now !!

Internal Web Servers, needed to be set as Direct Access in ISA Server, but i need to know which SP on you have installed on your ISA to point you to the correct Article.

If your talking about this

http://www.isaserver.org/tutorials/Configuring_Web_Proxy_Clients_for_Direct_Access.html

I still don't beleive that it has anything to do with my problem.

If I type in 192.168.0.1 into IE to access the web based config page on a wireless router connected directly to the workstation then I don't beleive ISA is even getting involved. The problem to me is with something in the network stack on the workstation. As I stated in my original post this used to work no problem up until recently so Microsoft changed SOMETHING.

Thats why i asked which SP u have on your ISA Server.

The article you pointed above applies to ISA Server with SP1, with SP2 , Direct access configuration changed, check this : https://blogs.technet.com/isablog/archive/2006/02/27/420653.aspx
