I was keep hearing things like this. ISA 2004 cannot work with single listener for OWA, OMA, ActiveSync and RPC/HTTP. I also read this link: http://www.isaserver.org/tutorials/2004pubowamobile.html. I didn't try this because we don't run certificate services in our company, so I cannot get a certificate for localhost. After I fiddled around, I found something that ISA 2004 will work with single IP address, listener for all four Exchange features (owa, oma, activesync and rpc). And it does work in my company. My setup is here: http://anandpv.spaces.live.com/ My hunch is, - with ISA 2004 SP2, ISA is handling the NON-Browser requests with basic authentication (like ISA 2006) - OR Microsoft added features (through patches) to Outlook and WM5 to make it handle FBA logon page Anyways, it works for me flawlessly. But, I still don't know the exact reason why it works. Is anybody shed some light?

Hi Anand, Since you're using a single NIC config, the connections could be bypassing the ISA Firewall completely. That's why I always avoid single NIC "hork mode" config. Tom

You may be right. I know web browsers getting FBA logon page from ISA server (I didn't turn on the FBA in Exchange Front-End server). Let me check the logs to see where the OMA, ActiveSync and RPC requests gets authenticated. Is there any easy way to check this?

Hi guys, I use the same listener for both OWA and RPC/HTTPS on my edge ISA firewall. I Just add the /rpc/* path to the OWA publishing rule's properties. This is without SP2 and any updates to Outlook

How is your OMA clients logon? Do they get FBA logon page or logon window?

Hi Anand, No OMA for me. I was just addressing how I find I can use one listener for both OWA and RPC/HTTPS in 2004. Hope you solve your problem.

ORIGINAL: anand_pv How is your OMA clients logon? Do they get FBA logon page or logon window? OMA clients should be recieving a page configured for handheld clients. Make sure to create a separate rule for OMA, don't use the same rule for OWA and OMA. HTH, Tom

My OMA clients don't get the FBA page, instead they get the logon box. That's why I wanted confirm what Dan Pink is getting.

It's tempting to go for ISA 2006, too bad we bought ISA 2004 just 3 months ago. Anand

It should work. In other hand, you have an option for creating two listners (one with FBA and one with Basic authentication).
