We have a web site that transmits an XML data to an external IIS web site. It was working at one time, but had to rebuild the ISA server and not the xml transmission is not working.

To transmit through ISA with http, port 8080 needs to be used. This is configured on IE6 on the ISA and the IIS servers. The www.x.x is configured on the IIS server and the site is publisghed as a web server the xml.x.x is published on an external server.

How can I get the xml [http] request go through port 8080?? and the ISA server??

I can access the xml site using http://xml.x.x using IE6 as the browser.... but not from the IIS web application using xml 4 sp1

Hi Bernie,

What does the Web Proxy log say? Is the request denied? Maybe you need to bypass the Web Proxy service to get this to work.

HTH,
Tom

It appears that the URL cannot be resolved.

Yet the http://xml.x.x retrieves the acknowledgement that the web site is active and answers the http request so the DNS does resolve the url

I have the same problem.

Did you ever solve this?

If I open all ports in "IP Packet Filters" then everything works fine but If just "regular" ports are open then it wont work.

There is no problem to reach the site though IE but when IIS are calling for it and is expecting some data back it wont work.

Any ideas?

Is there an update or solution?
